When is a Sneaker . . .

. . . not the sneaker you wanted?

ANSWER: When you are so much in a rush you forget to check the size!

I wanted to give six of my Disney Animator dolls a set of more casual clothes to wear and ordered these little sneakers which were intended to complete their outfits. Unfortunately when they arrived I realised they were going to be far too small for their chubby little footsies and when I checked my order it showed I had ordered the 1/6 size!

At first I was disappointed, but found they were the perfect size for several of my BJD's.

Needless to say, I have now placed an order for the correct size and will have to wait until after Christmas before I am able to photograph the dolls in their completed outfits.

Here's a little preview of what I have been working on.

Hugs,
X

  1. Hello Sandy,
I am sorry they were the wrong size, but they are beautiful and I am glad you will be able to use them on other dolls. I cannot wait to see more on your next post.

    1. Hi Giac,
Thank you. It was fortunate I have dolls with different size feet, so at least they haven't gone to waste. :)

  2. Oh yes, been there, done that! But like you, having a selection of different sized dolls really did help. ;)
The hats are beautiful, do you make them in smaller sizes? I think your little Animator dolls are going to be so well dressed and look forward to seeing them when they're all ready to show themselves!

    1. Oh that's good to hear Sharon, at least I'm not alone there. Thank you, I haven't done, but I am sure I could give it a go. What size were you thinking of? They probably will, as they are a good size to sew & knit for and I seem to be on a bender! :)

    1. Thank you Grandmommy. My BJD's are very happy with my mistake, they have been rather neglected lately.

  4. Oooh are they beret hats? They look pretty good. I love the colours and pattern too.

Ah, the joys of shopping for dolls right? I've done that with a wig once. Lucky I had another doll that could use it. Although I do hate how massive a collection my wig pile has become. I'd love to move on some of it one day.

    1. Yes Alasse, they have matching scarves and are part of the kids new outfits.

Wigs are not my best purchases either, but that's more to do with the doll head size I think. I think you could sell a few on DoA, it seems to be quite a good outlet for BJD wigs.

  7. Hello there! I am glad that the shoes will work on your BJD's! I think that it is a bit hard with sizes - clothes and shoes for dollies. Sewing clothes is one thing, but shoes...!
