Little Lady Grey

Little Lady Grey (PF Icis) arrived home today. She has the cutest button nose and I just love her, the tan is beautiful. :)

LG: I ask you, is this any way to treat a Lady?
Me: Well it's better than showing you off naked.
LG: But I'm not supposed to wear this colour, let alone wear hand me downs!
Me: Don't worry, your wardrobe will be here soon enough.

LG: Not soon enough for me. Hmph!
Me: Well that's no way for a Lady to behave.
I've a good mind to put you back in your box.
LG: Oh please don't, it's so dark in there.
Me: Do you promise to behave?
LG: I promise.

Friday

So You Think You Have a Lot of Dolls?

Take a look at this collection!

No it's not doll museum.

While visiting my girlfriend recently, I took a few photos of her doll collection.

And this isn't all of them!!

Thursday

A Little Doll Room Chair

Quite some time ago, while hubby and I were out hunting around the antique shops we found a couple of chairs to makeover. One I intend restoring, the other I want to paint white and finish with a lovely feminine rose chintz.

The ones we bought are both the same design, made of cedar and upholstered with a yellow/olive (bit like pea soup) ribbed velvet which I do not like at all. I think I would prefer something more delicate like a pretty brocade.

I believe they are called balloon back chairs, but I have yet to find the date when or where they were made.

This is the look I want to achieve for the one which will go in my doll room.

Tuesday

More Wigs

The FMD wigs I ordered last week arrived today and Gum Drops was so happy she could hardly contain herself! Finally she had her blue hair that she has been so patiently waiting for.

Gum Drops: Mummy do you think I look like Veronica Lake?
Me: I don't think she had blue hair, sweetheart.

Gum Drops: Not the colour silly, the style!
It makes me look a little mysterious, don't you think?
Me: I don't know about mysterious, but you certainly look very pretty.

I did order four wigs, but the others are for PukiFees that haven't arrived as yet!
(Now is that not surprising?) :)

Friday

Rocking the Night Away!

Today we are travelling back in time to the days of the Bobby Sox and Rock'n'Roll with a new design for my iMDA 3.0. I have just listed this two piece set on Etsy and hope it does well. Let me know your honest opinion of the style, okay?

Thursday

The Other One

Here's the iMDA Babette that arrived on Monday. She has no face up yet, which makes her look a little ghastly, but I will get to it soon.

The wig and boots are probably staying, however, I am not sure about the eyes. Initially I was thinking I'd go with blue and although I quite like these hazel ones, they seem a little big so I may see how I go with the 14mm blue ones when I can find the pair I put away for her. You surely know the story ~ put them somewhere safe and now can't remember where the safe place is!!

I did have a design in mind for her clothes, but it keeps evolving! So heaven only knows what this doll will finally end up looking like. :)

I do hope you are all having a better organised week than I am having, my mind is all in a muddle and I feel like a dog chasing it's tail.
Hugs to you all,
X

Tuesday

Two New Arrivals

Yesterday evening, I was lucky enough to receive two new dolls, the first was my long awaited iMda Babette which I ordered without a face up (which I will show you later) and the second was a tan LittleFee Pipi girl with a default face up. I didn't quite know what to expect as I hadn't seen a Pipi as a girl let alone in tan resin, so I was quite impressed when I removed this little sweetheart from her box.

I am so pleased with her face up, it looks so natural. I have never been a real fan of pink lips and these suit her beautifully. The wig is just one from my stash and the dress one I purchased a long time ago, neither of these will stay with her as I have something in special for this little one.

I think I shall name her Pippin.

Sunday

11th April Doll Meet

My girls had great fun meeting other dolls.

That sneaky little elf is trying to scare the life out of this poor wee Lati White

This beautiful Ante stole the show (as well as all the babies).

As usual, the five hours passed by so quickly and before we knew it was time to go home. It had been a fun day and it was lovely to see two new faces attending along with the regulars. :)

Thursday

My Little Bumble Bee

This Saturday, our little Coco will turn three, so I decided to knit him a jumper for his birthday. I sorted through my wool box and found three lovely Autumn colours, then went searching the internet for a pattern that would fit his size. Well after much browsing, I found one I thought would be suitable, but it was hard to tell from the photo shown, even so, I decided to give it a go and downloaded the PDF pattern.

It was simple enough to knit, and was all completed in a couple of days. However, even following the pattern to the letter, the jumper turned out slightly larger than expected. The length was perfect, but the underside a little too wide at the front which in turn made the polo neck loose, so it slipped down his shoulders.

He looks really cute in it just the same, just like a chubby bumble bee, but next time I will try making one using a different pattern.

Sunday

Day Dresses

All three girls have new day dresses, now I have to make their new band costumes.

Ivory: Hello Harmony, we were about to go for a walk. Would you like to join us?
Harmony: Hello, yes, I think I will, it's a perfect day for a walk..
Oh Ebony, your hair looks beautiful, may I touch it?
Ebony: Thank you, and yes you may, but Mummy is thinking of having it cut and restyled. (*means she may get a new wig)
