Sunday

Knitting

In between all the other stuff  I do, I've been knitting (usually in the evening). It's the first time I have used such tiny knitting needles (just a measly 1.5 mm) and fine blended cotton and wool, so it was a challenge for me in the beginning. The first ones I finished are actually very long jumpers (sweaters), designed to be worn over a frilly tulle skirt (which, not surprisingly, are yet to be made).

I had fun embroidering the fronts of these and adding the little flower buttons. As you can see, each one is slightly different, and the backs close with a zipper.

Both designs are made to fit Fairyland Little Fees, Iple House BID's and Dollzone 25cm BB's.

Wednesday

Penthouse Bedroom

Things have been moving along slowly with the Tree Stump and have finally furnished Misty's room. I wasn't keen on the sheets that came with the SF set so they had a little make-over.

It wasn't the only thing that had a make-over though. The more I looked at the kitchen and sitting room, the more I felt it was far too dark and gloomy for a bunch of happy go lucky elves, so it all had to go! It took me ages to remove the wallpaper from both the rooms, but I completed it yesterday and they are now ready for a new, brighter decor.

Sunday

Play Misty For Me

Well I have finally caught up with reading your blogs and finding out what you have all been up to in the past week during my absence.

In the meantime, Misty has been up to mischief again this morning and has taken over the upright piano . . . here she is singing her little head off. Just quietly, I think she thinks she's Winifred Atwell . . . probably a bit before your time, but she was a great ragtime pianist. I saw her live back in the early sixties (when I was a child), at the Melbourne Town Hall and she sure could tinkle those ivories! I did tell Misty to "please put some clothes on", but she told me she's misplaced her nickers. :)

Well I hesitate to say, but I have begun my week by purchasing more Sylvanian Families furniture! How could I not, when ToysEtc still had their sale on and FREE SHIPPING again today . . . that's two weekends in a row (I wonder if they do that every weekend?).

The lounge suite / coffee table set was reduced from $19.99 to just $13.99 and the complete kitchen set from $39.95 to just $27,95, so with the FREE DELIVERY it worked out to be quite a saving.

It cost me $40 for just a 1/12 scale settee and stove from The Doll Shop, which turned out to be too large for my needs, so that will be returned tomorrow and exchanged for something more suitable.

Saturday

Woeful Week

Haven't felt like doing much of anything this week, except trying to get over this dreaded lurgy. I don't know about you, but I find it very difficult to concentrate on anything for more than a minute or two when my head is full of mucus and my body is aching all over!!

Here I was thinking I'd get so much done this week while hubby was away . . . fat chance!! However, I did manage to take a couple of quick snaps of Misty shopping for sweeties and curling up in her new bed with her recently acquired iPad (BTW she gave me explicit instructions to assemble them as "beds not bunks").

I will catch up with you all, it just may take me a little while.

Missing

Well the heading could mean anything, but besides missing you all and me being missing from the blogger-sphere, somehow it seems like I lost seven days this week!!

Having said that, I haven't been completely idle. I have been working on my tree stump and did manage to go to the movies with hubby, as well as buy myself some little things to "play" with.

Saw this case in Wooja and thought it would make a great portable room for my Real Pukis. They had other colours too!

These will save a lot of time as a base to build on, they are stackable when closed, so won't take up too much room and are very reasonably priced. I hadn't planned to make more than one room, until I saw the Sylvania furniture below . . . now I'm thinking of making several!!

Found all these (which are the perfect size for RP's) at Toys etc online. They had the best prices I'd seen on Sylvanian Families furniture, with free delivery and and extra 5% discount off your first order if your subscribed to their newsletter.

This bunk bed comes apart so you can have three separate beds if you prefer.

Compared to the prices I found at Toys'R'us, I saved over $30 (not including petrol) and had them delivered right to my front door!

The sweet store doesn't come with the critters, but it does come with the lolly pops etc. and I thought it would make a great additional prop to have on hand.
