Quiet Time

I love the time between Christmas and New Year. It's always so quiet and relaxing, especially because hubby manages to take some down time. We have been to the movies quite a bit lately and even though the kids have been on school holidays the theatres have not been at all crowded, which I am grateful for . . . I like a bit of space around me.

Have managed to get a little sewing done, but not photographed anything as yet., I want to take my time photographing these new designs so they look their best. Usually I'm in a rush and end up with lousy photos . . . but not this time . . . it's my New Year resolution.

I  did manage to sort out which direction I'm going with my Etsy store and listed all the Blythe garments as CLEARANCE items so if you are looking for clothes for your Blythe dolls, now's the time to make that purchase, because once they are gone that's it, I won't be making for Blythe any more.

As I probably won't be posting anything more till the New Year I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all my readers . . .

A Very Happy, Safe, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

Tuesday

One More Sleep

Yes, just one more sleep till Santa comes. It's time for all the boys and girls to get ready for wonderful surprises in their stockings . . . if you have been very good you'll probably get what you have wished for, if you have been naughty, you'll find rocks in your stocking!! Well that's what we used to tell our kids when they were little. :)

From our house to your house, we wish you a very . . .

P.S. Do you think I could get these little tykes to all look at the camera at the same time? Not on your Nellie!!

Thursday

Well It's Done Now!

After trying so hard to be good and not order any new dolls, I've gone and done it . . . yes, the temptation got the better of me and I ordered these two little girls this morning.

Efreet (on the left) will be known as Ebony and Elin (on the right) will be known as Ivory, and will be just the perfect sisters for Harmony. Both girls are BID's from IpleHouse.

I was a little undecided about whether to order their outfits or make them, but IpleHouse do such a great job of them, I figured I may as well go the whole hog.

However, I didn't order the shoes or stockings as I already have black shoes and striped stockings put aside for all three of them. Now, I'm hoping and praying that the ensemble I have designed for Harmony goes to plan and works well with the two IH sets . . . fingers crossed.

I think Lady Luck must have been sitting on my shoulder lately, as I somehow managed to have some really good sales on eBay and Etsy, just in time to finance the order before the event cut off date. So a heartfelt "Thank You" to all my lovely customers for buying up big. :)

Sunday

A Tidy Find

I was sorting out a few things the other day, when I came across this huge ball of Moda Vera knitting yarn, it no longer had a label on it so had no idea of the composition of it. As it is a little hairy, I'm thinking it may be an acrylic/mohair blend, but whatever it is, I thought it was pretty and it inspired me to knit something for a change.

The colour of the yarn blends from one to another throughout the ball, creating individual sets. I didn't have a pattern and wasn't sure of the size needles to use, so it was really hit and miss, but it knits up quite well.

I am happy with the results and have already put the first hat & scarf set I knitted on Etsy for just AU$12 the set plus postage. The one above I will list if the first one creates interest.

I might try making up a different style hat next time, but I shall write this pattern down before I forget what I did. I think it really suits my Angelique, and will fit LittleFees, IH BID's, Luts Honey Delfs and probably other 6 to 7 inch heads.

Thursday

New Arrivals

Today I have been very lucky to have received my two IpleHouse girls. I'm thrilled they arrived in time to put under the Christmas tree, but I couldn't wait till then to get a sneak peek at them in their stock clothing, after all I have been waiting almost three months for them to be made and that is long enough in my book!

This is my first BID (her stock name is Chloe) but I have already plans for her and she will known as Harmony.

My second KID (Lonnie) looks lovely as she is, but only time will tell who she will become.

Wednesday

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Poor Gina! She has a new Radio Flyer sled and has been dreaming each night and wishing all week, for us to have a white Christmas so she can go tobogganing  on it.

I told her "not in those new clothes!" But I need not worry, although it's cool at present, we shan't be receiving any snow where we live.

These clothes are made for an Aussie Christmas in the sun. :)

Saturday

Keeping Occupied

Well it's been a busy few days, as it has been my intention to keep my mind fully occupied so as not to order the dolls on my wishlist. Those two little BID's from Iplehouse keep calling my name and tempting me to bring them home to Oz. :) So far I have managed to resist by concentrating on my sewing.

GINA: Mr.Clown loves being pulled along in my cart.

I adjusted the design shown in the previous post and added some individual touches so each one is not only in different fabrics but each also has variation in style.

ANTOINETTE: I'm sure Gina won't mind if I borrow her cart for a little while.

Although not shown in the top and bottom sets, each set comes complete with a matching hair clip.

ANTOINETTE: Now you listen here teddy, this book is all about you!

Monday

Chevron Stripes and Spots

This outfit is made from a lovely soft cotton fabric in one of my all time colour combinations. I love seeing fabrics with purple/lavender shades combined with aqua/turquoise blues, it always looks so refreshing, especially when a touch of white is added to the mix.

This retro outfit is designed for summer play and is a perfect addition to a girl's wardrobe to mix and match with other pieces. The top could be easily be worn on it's own as a mini dress or as a top over tights and the mid-calf pants could be worn with a basic T-shirt for a more relaxed look.

I maybe a little biased, but I think it's really suits Antoinette.
