Not Quite Finished . . ..

. . . but I thought I'd share what I've done so far.

I am so pleased with the way this outfit is progressing. The outfit can be worn a number of different ways; layered as above or with the long striped underskirt removed and just the short tulle dress with the pantaloons (below). I also want to add a fitted peplum jacket that can be worn over the bloomers or the long underskirt and a short bolero that can be worn over the tulle dress.

Saturday

My Little Aviator

I had this fabric with the face of a female aviator on it, don't know if it was Amelia Earhart or Amy Johnson, but little Marie Ann got it into her head it would make a great Steampunk dress . . . and so the seamstress was once again commissioned to sew and sew!

Now she wants these boots to go with it!!

Needless to say, the seamstress has ordered both pairs. :)

Thursday

On A Roll

Yes, I have been at the sewing machine again...and am loving every minute of it! This time a three piece set, or should I say THREE three piece sets. :) I bet you're getting sick of seeing me here.

All available from my Etsy Boutique!!

Monday

Strapless...What a Hoot!

I bought a few pieces of fabric recently that had a Christmas theme. Though they were not really traditional, I thought they would make up into great dolls clothes.

.

This Santa capped owl fabric inspired me to make this little strapless number for Marie Ann to model.

I also thought this gingerbread men print was cute and colourful.

It is now available from my Etsy Boutique.

Saturday

Sew, Sew, Sew!

Pictures are worth a thousand words. :)

Sunday

Ladybird, Ladybird, Fly Away Home . . .

Is this little ladybird dress going to b flying home to you? Yes, I am having a give away!

Ooops! These shoes are a little big for me.

There are many variations of this old English nursery rhyme (1744),
but this version by Helen Ferris (1957) is my favourite.

Ladybird, Ladybird, fly away home
the field mouse is gone to her nest
the daisies have shut up their sleepy red eyes
and the birds and the bees are at rest

Ladybird, Ladybird, fly away home
the glow worm is lighting her lamp
the dew's falling fast, and your fine speckled wings
will flag with the close clinging damp

Ladybird, Ladybird, fly away home
the fairy bells tinkle afar
make haste or they'll catch you and harness you fast
with a cobweb to Oberon's star.

It inspired me to make this little Ladybird dress for my sweet Little Lilly, but I had enough fabric to make two!

But my Ladybird dress is very pretty.
So, if you would like your girl to own a ladybird dress like this one, just leave a comment and follow my blog and you'll receive an entry to WIN THIS LITTLE DRESS which fits an Iplehouse Pixxie.

Good luck to you all, bye!
It will be drawn in two weeks time and results will be published here on 1st November.

Friday

PukiFee Wigs

Today I attempted to make a couple of wigs from some faux fur I had hanging around in my studio. It's probably not the right sort of fur, but I had fun with it just the same.

This pink one reminds me of pink eucalyptus blossom, which makes Ziorina look more like Snuggle Pot or Cuddle Pie. :)

Not sure about this one at all!!

They are really quite simple to make and I will probably have another go down the track with different fur. And next time, I will remember take progress photos so you can see how easy it really is.

Thursday

Trick or Treating

"Hi there! My name is Lillian, but you can call me Little Lilly."

"My Seamstress made me this pretty dress to wear on Halloween, I think it's really purty. I don't have any shoes to wear yet, so I'm gonna ride my trike when I go trick or treating."

"So do you wanna come with me?"

Pixxie Twinky

My Iplehouse Pixxie Twinky arrived today, which was a little bit of a surprise as I only received the shipping notice on Monday. EMS sure have been on the ball lately. I quickly dressed her so as she was not running around in the raw, and I am not sure whether this wig will stay or not . . . only time will tell. :)

Wednesday

Leopard Spots

We've been shopping . . . this outfit arrived today from Nice Niece.
She couldn't wait to put it on and go show it off to all her friends.

I think she looks kinda sweet in her Snow Leopard outfit, with it's cute little puppy dog on the front of the shirt, what about you? Do you think it suits her?
